A New Day, A New Widget!

We are excited to announce that today we went live with our new widget in beta version! The new widget design and features are available on SparkPeople.com, FoxNews.com, Boston.com, Dogtime.com and AccessHollywood.com.

The team here at ShareThis has been listening and we’re addressing many of the requests we’ve had since our first implementation. You’ll notice our design has collapsed the tabs so you can now see all sharing options in the same pane for easier sharing.

Additional new features in the beta version of the widget include:

•    ShareBox v.2.0
Users can now save content directly to their ShareBox through a link in the widget. This will allow easy access to previously shared content and provides organizational tools.
•    Contact Manager
Users can now import access contact names and email addresses directly to the widget from the largest webmail providers through ShareThis’ new contact manager, allowing for easier sharing to all contacts without ever leaving the website they are visiting.
•    Smarter Widget
The widget will automatically display the last three email addresses used, providing an even faster and easier way to share content with the relevant contacts.
•    Improved Design
ShareThis completely redesigned the widget to be tab-free, creating a more intuitive experience for the user.  The once separate Social Web and Post tabs are now merged together.

We hope you’ll check out the new widget and let us know your thoughts. For more information on the new widget, check out the press release.

I Like the new Widget very much, it’s definetly an improvment, but what about multi language options you promised this feature for some time now. Any News on that?

Can’t wait until we all will be able to use it!
You should consider giving people a cookie, and displaying the social networking pages that THEY use in the widget! Why should it matter what the site owner uses, when he’s not the one sharingthis

When will publishers be able to use this new button? I just checked it out on the websites you mentioned above and it is awesome…can’t wait! I plan to use this on my website and all aspects of my forum (contests/posts/classifieds)…any chance of being a beta tester?

One suggestion, the ‘import contacts’ text on the top right should definitely be more visable as this is the best tool yet and you guys are hiding it…just my two cents.

Sorry I pressed “enter” to try to get a new paragraph and it submitted.

Anyway, I lost my colors and now twitters in the same pane as Kirtsy, etc. I do not like it.

I also don’t have my last contacts, but I logged out.
