Anderson Cooper: “The Fact Is, I’m Gay.”
After years of refusing to discuss his personal life in public, television personality and journalist Anderson Cooper gave longtime friend Andrew Sullivan permission to publish an email that explicitly states his sexual orientation: “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldnt be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.” Cooper also details why he decided to stay quasi-closeted for so long. Wimbledon Line Judge Hit In Face By 118 MPH Serve
The next time you start to moan about a horrible day at work, think again. Chances are you didn’t get hit square in the face by a tennis ball moving at a whopping 118 miles per hour. For one unlucky Wimbledon line judge, Monday wasn’t just an ordinary day at the office. In the fourth-round match between Mardy Fish and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, a serve flew out of the box and struck her in the eye. She was then escorted off the court, and hopefully got the rest of the day off.
The Bomb Buried In Obamacare Explodes Today-Hallelujah!
A great deal of sharing about the Affordable Care Act (also referred to as Obamacare) in the wake of last week’s Supreme Court decision. So much sharing, in fact, that this December 2011 article reemerged from the Forbes archives with insight into the statute’s long-run impact on our country’s healthcare future. The author suggests a true “death panel” of the systemone that leads not to the demise of consumers, but rather to the fall of large group insurers. These groups will have to spend 85% of collected customer premiums on, well, actual medical care instead of on overhead, marketing and profit. Whether you think Obamacare is a healthy choice for consumers or not, the welfare of for-profit insurers may be the one to watch.
