Pinterest, the social bookmarking site used to discover new ideas and gain inspiration, is quickly emerging as a highly active and social platform with 15% growth in sharing during the month of August. ShareThis did some research around how users are engaging with the social media platform, and how it compares with other channels.
With Facebook and Twitter as the top two sharing channels, Pinterest almost has email beaten out for third place. Taking a deeper dive into specific devices, Pinterest has far surpassed both Facebook and Twitter in sharing activity on tablets, with 48% of total shares. The highest shared content on iPads is lifestyle related, and the most active users are moms. Are more direct target audiences evolving not only for social media channels, but for devices as well?
